By using the babelbee.com website, you agree to have your personal data collected and used as described in this privacy policy.

Overview
Babelbee cares about your privacy. We will not share your information with third parties. You will control how we share your information with other Babelbee users. We do not require physical address information. All you need in order to use Babelbee is a Paypal account, and Babelbee does not need to know any of your other financial details. Also, you will be able to delete your account at any time.


How we handle your information

No sharing with third-parties
We will not sell, rent or otherwise share your personal information with a third party outside Babelbee, unless required by law. We may only sell, rent or share aggregate data that will not be individually identifiable (for instance, the distribution of languages spoken by our user community).

Controlled sharing with other Babelbee users

• Personal data: Other Babelbee users only have access to your user name and past feedback. In addition, if you are a registered translator, other users will see your language qualifications.
  

• Translation data: Whenever you upload text for translation, you have a choice of sharing it with all Babelbee members, or providing a sample and sharing the full text only with your chosen translator. In case Babelbee wishes to use some of the translation done for you for statistical processing, we will only do so after having your explicit consent.

Control over your account
You can delete your account at any time. Please note that if you have any transactions pending when you delete your account, you will forfeit any money deposited in escrow for those transactions. If you have any money left in your Babelbee account, make sure to transfer it to your Paypal account, as you will forfeit any outstanding balance when closing your Babelbee account.

No spam
We will not send you unsolicited e-mail. You will receive from us messages related to any transaction you participate in, and messages related to managing your account, when necessary (when resetting your password, for instance). Other users will not be given your personal contact information, and may only contact you through the Babelbee internal messaging system, while a transaction is ongoing.

If you post a translation request, you will receive emails from Babelbee to notify you of offers made in reply to your request. If you are registered as a translator, you will receive emails from Babelbee to notify you of new requests that match your qualifications.

We will only access your personal information when:

Personal information collected by Babelbee may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Babelbee or its agents maintain facilities. By using babelbee.com, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.

User profile

• All users:
• Name:First name & last name, or company name.
• E-mail address.
  

• Translators:
• Native language(s).
• Other language(s) in which you are fluent.
• Subjects of expertise (optional).
• Paypal account, if different from the e-mail address in your user profile.

Activities

We store information on your activities on the sites (such as requesting translations, bidding, feedback, and content you generate or that relates to your account such as internal messages).

Cookies

In order for the site the function properly, Babelbee makes use of browser "cookies". These cookies, like other personal information, are not shared with any other party, and are only used by Babelbee to ensure the good functioning of the site.

Server log files

We store technical data based on your interaction with our site, including computer and connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the sites, advertising data, IP address and standard web log information.


Changes to this policy

If we make any significant changes to this policy, we will notify you in advance via e-mail or on our homepage.
